Douglas Bachman is an accomplished Producer, Director, and an Director of Photography. With over 20 years in film and television, Douglas has producer, directed and or shot on six continents and over 40 countries on productions ranging from feature documentaries to series television, from educational films to commercials. He has worked with National Geographic, Discovery, Travel Channel, A&E, History Channel, PBS (and more) in the creation of well over 100 hours of programing. Highlighted shows include: National Geographic's HGTV's and A&E's.
As for feature films, he was Director of Photography for Director Sylvia Caminer's multiple award-winning feature doc, about 80's rock icon Rick Springfield and his enduring and unusual fan base. But it was with Caminer again with that he tackled his biggest physical and emotional challenge. Following a young Tanzanian man's rediscovery of his identity after a near 10 year absence, Douglas captured from the dangerous slums of Dar Es Salaam to the of sub-arctic heights of Kilimanjaro, from the crushing poverty of tribal villages to the life- saving treatment of an orphaned girl whose parents both died of AIDS.
